Are you implying that Celador and ITV deliberately allowed an Irish contestant to win?

Its been reported in papers here in Ireland today the winner Is from Northern Ireland.
I bet this is an ITV trying to get Irish viewers back on board after UTV dictched the 24 Hr quiz, and also to prove Irish people can get on to their quiz shows.

What's with all this anagram of carp about the bloke being Irish?
Does EVERYBODY on this forum talk about programmes without bothering to watch them first?
Okay, so I've only got round to watching the tape tonight, but it doesn't exactly take a bloomin' genius to understand Chris Tarrant telling you that the bloke comes from WIGAN.
Don't want to worry you, but Wigan wasn't in Ireland the last time I bothered to get an atlas out.

What many people forget is that while ITV will get a ratings boost for one night as a few extra people tune in to see someone win the million, the viewing figures probably aren't as good as they used to be. This is because everyone knows that they don't need to watch the programme every night to see someone win a million. If someone hits the jackpot it'll be in a paper several days (or even weeks) before. Something has to be done - either of the two options sound good to me.

Yes, they did keep the seats and computers there and used slightly different camera angles. They also had those 'filler' highlights films for the end of the programme, because they couldn't start a new question, there wasn't enough time.
I think it would be much better live, with a time limit of some kind (possibly more time as you get further up the money tree), and reintroduce the Flip they stole from The People Versus for a few celebrity shows, stick 'All New' in front of the title and you've got our version of Super Millionaire - a tweaked format to boost the ratings.
