LEDs are techniaclly still LCDs, they just LED backlighting.
I got a U32B7020 because I found the Samsungs had by far the best picture quality of any TV I could find in store - I also saw a 6000 that looked just as good. The upscaling is absolutely fantastic. It achieves deep blacks by selectively dimming the backlight, which I found annoying, but that was disable-able (?) in the technician menu. On the downside, it's so thin that the speakers are tiny and thus not very good (though again some fiddling with the tech menus helped).
I can't really compare it as I don't think I've seen the other TVs you mentioned, but my advice would be to take a favourite DVD in with you and get them to put it on each telly as a way to compare.
