The globe is going, they've confirmed it. Looking at the complete pigs ear they made of replacing BBC2's ident set (and what was the point - they haven't changed the logo, they haven't changed the programming, so why do they suddenly decide that over 30 creative and varied idents should be replaced with a set of 4, dull as ditchwater and all very similar idents) I don't have high hopes for BBC1's new look. Or for the re branding of BBC Choice and BBC Knowledge to BBC3 and BBC4.

Aztecwest, calm down, we can all see the thread and how many votes there are for each, those that want to vote will and those that don't won't be persuaded by some one saying 'vote now, vote now' 55 posts in under two days is OTT.
Anyway I don't really have a favourite channel, i'm useless picking favourites, they all have strong points and their weakpoints, but looking at the new schedules, primetime on all channels is looking awful but at 11pm Mon, Tues and Wed are looking promising on BBC 1 with Johny Vaughan Tonight, which looks good; Also on those days comedy just before is also a good sign.

Well, I thought the balloons going (due to the Christmas idents being on for a long time). Then I thought the balloons were staying, but re-edited with a BBC1 box. Now I think they are staying put for the forseeable future, although I would guess that new idents/re-edited idents will come sometime this year.
I guess what it comes down to it that nobody knows a damn thing!

It was cwathen that I was questioning, i'm not saying that the globe theme will go but there is nothing to indicate that. It has been said that BBC 1 will get new idents we don't know if they'll use the globe or not, but I don't think that the box will be used until they get new idents. I think the reason they have introduced the box is because they want a logo for the channel, (ie something to be used on Sky Digital lists of channels etc. Just having the name is plain) but of course the box isn't much better. centralised text should be used until the nation has gone widescreen, then it can be done properly.
