I have been wondering, what has happen to it,Sesame Street, ( YES I know it too old for it my neice isn;) has it been scaped form UK televison, becasue the last I remember seening it was 6 years ago on channel 4 around noon, and now it gone,
is it no longer on UK tv
and why was it taken off?
Yeah, C4 replaced it with The Hoobs at the beginning of 2001.
I saw an Irish version of it while in Ireland, but my Irish skills being zero, all I know was that Elmo said something and then a fat man danced for five minutes.
Didn't Disney own the International rights for a bit (when they owned Jim Henson Muppets)??? As I am sure it was during this period that the proper Sesame Street disappeared from around the wrold and local ones started to be made to make it more relevant for the local populous?
It's about time that ones of the major channels (both terrestrial and digital/cable) picked it up again - as it was good fun to watch and YES children did learn many things from the show - although some US spellings and prononciations (my bad spelling this time!!) have crept through due to the programme
Why couldn't you just call this thread "Sesame Street" instead of trying to be cryptic about things? Unless of course this is a general thread about "missing" shows?
