Erm, I don't hate it. It merely confuses me.

But you're Irish, so everything I've just said in the last 2 pages will have gone straight over your head and into the abyss. So I won't bother explaining further.

Found what she said.

I'm not a woman.

And you're not intelligent.

Sascha, you are demonstrating the worst kind of snobbery. You started off with some valid comments but, as the thread has progressed, you have resorted to making generalisations about the type of people who post here and, as if that wasn't enough, are now using dated cultural stereotypes!

This forum exists FOR people to talk about idents, logos, channel branding and other such aspects of television which would be overlooked by the average viewer. Among the regulars here are several industry professionals who integrate with "us fans" of their work and they make this forum a very interesting place.

TV Forum isn't perfect; there has always been a problem with trolls etc. and I'm not sure what the solution is. But coming on here with such an air of superiority isn't going to win you many friends and is an affront to the moderators, all of whom are volunteers and have lives away from this site. If you feel TV Forum doesn't cater for your needs, fair enough, just don't make judgements about those who enjoy it here.

I'm speaking generally.

I'm not one to nit-pick, but if 'Asa' is wanting to attact a more discerning user who is mature, responsible and intelligent enough to want to discuss broadcasting matters then he is going the wrong way about it.

Most of the topics on this website are pointless. The Mock Design forum is the most pointless aspect of this site. Closely followed by the Requests forum. That forum continually flouts copyright laws. Whether it's library music or not, it's still copyrighted and therefore illegal to distribute whether physically or digitally.

There is such an underground geeky element to this website that I find it hard to believe that it does have so many users. Granted, most of the audited users registered to this website are not frequent contributers to topics because they are probably, like me, alienated by the fact that this place is over-run with trolls, hardcore anoraks and general oddballs.

Even the visual aesthetics of this site resemble a kiddies/youth website. No wonder it's all gone to pot.

If you are a media professional reading this, then I strongly suggest you go somewhere else to discuss media matters. If you're an anorak, then stay put. As long as all the misfits and trolls are busy at TV Forum they won't have as much inclination to cause havoc on professional media outlets.

I'm sorry, but "geeks" and "anoraks"?

You words sound remarkable familiar to me, and probably many others.

Why would you continue to post on a discussion board when you dislike the core membership, administration and topics? There's no point in writing Asa's name with inverted commas as you know very well who he is.

Are you a particular oft-banned member who keeps coming back for more?

I think we should be told.

I think this discussion has gone far enough.

Thanks to Charlie Wells, the troll situation seems to be under control now, so there's no need for this thread. To answer the original question, we were asleep.

Sascha, if you don't like it here, then why do you keep posting? If I don't like something, I avoid it. For the record, there are plenty of "media professionals" on this site who make a valid contribution. It's a shame I can't say the same about you.

I just want to thank those members who appreciate the job the moderators do. As has been said, we are voluntary and we do have busy lives aside from this site. We do our best to help keep the site running as smoothly as possible and I think a little appreciation would go a long way.
