This kind of forum abuse would NEVER happen over at Media UK.

Just goes to show that the administrators of this website actively encourage trolls and wasters by the kind of trivial nonsense threads which are allowed to be opened.

This website is nothing more than a virtual childrens playground. Many of my colleagues and other media professionals have long since left this site because the administrators are too focused on idents and logos. If this is a niché website then fine, but don't advertise it as a proper grown-up professional website, because it really isn't and I don't think it ever will be - which is a shame.

For gods sake it's nearly 2am, some people sleep you know Razz

Now that's slander..

I'm speaking generally.

I'm not one to nit-pick, but if 'Asa' is wanting to attact a more discerning user who is mature, responsible and intelligent enough to want to discuss broadcasting matters then he is going the wrong way about it.

Most of the topics on this website are pointless. The Mock Design forum is the most pointless aspect of this site. Closely followed by the Requests forum. That forum continually flouts copyright laws. Whether it's library music or not, it's still copyrighted and therefore illegal to distribute whether physically or digitally.

There is such an underground geeky element to this website that I find it hard to believe that it does have so many users. Granted, most of the audited users registered to this website are not frequent contributers to topics because they are probably, like me, alienated by the fact that this place is over-run with trolls, hardcore anoraks and general oddballs.

Even the visual aesthetics of this site resemble a kiddies/youth website. No wonder it's all gone to pot.

If you are a media professional reading this, then I strongly suggest you go somewhere else to discuss media matters. If you're an anorak, then stay put. As long as all the misfits and trolls are busy at TV Forum they won't have as much inclination to cause havoc on professional media outlets.

Not only do you fail to know the meaning of that word, but you're also incredibly stupid to go around accusing people of it - especially on the internet, where cases of slander are practically non-existent.

Oh for Christ's sake - this is exactly the sort of crap that must put so many people off running forums like this.

I'm not going to claim this website is perfect - not many are - but to dismiss the efforts of voluntary moderators in such a brutal way is a bit harsh.

MediaUK - is that the website where I constantly can never get in, due to their insistance that you use a non webmail account that doesn't have multiple identities, is one of the three or four I've ever heard of and that you throw a double six to enter. (with no harm meant to MediaUK - I understand why it's felt procedures like that are needed - but it's not exactly user-friendly for those who aren't prepared to do handstands to enter a forum)

Incidentally, you're right that this sort of stuff would never go on at MediaUK - presumably they would have got rid of this thread a long time ago. Maybe that's one thing they're getting right.

Anyway, something of much more interest to a lot of people on here - Pages From Ceefax is on BBC1 Scotland for another five minutes.. Laughing

Oh, Sascha, you crack me up. Would you rather discuss your branding fantasies with middle-aged loners?

Sascha, if you hate this site soo much then why are you posting? No website is perfect, but it a great way to discuss people's interests, it's not like people are being anoark and telling the general public about our interests.

Do us all a favour and go to sleep. Wink

Ooh - a really classy retro BBC Ceefax endcap there at the end of the BBC1 Scotland stint - looked like it had come from the 80s. Ferry nice.

Ok, I know that's off-topic, but this isn't much of a topic, is it?
