oh don't go on this again - the England match was much more newsworthy due to the whole fan banning issue. If Scotland had had this problem then it would have been them who got the report.

Plus is there not meant to be a title shout checker on this site?
Ehh I dont think so!!!
Ehh why not?

Well at least you got a live report from Turkey - us in Scotland only got a passing mention of the result.

If she was ACTUALLY hyping it up, I'd have some sympathy.
What she's doing is putting people off because of her total ineptitude.

Hundred percent agree with you, Chris.
The way tonight's ITV announcer is building up the game, I have a feeling that BOTH the viewers will be disappointed!
Anyone who could call themselves and England fan would have watched the game live by hook or by crook - God knows why ITV are showing the game in full. Total waste of time if you ask me.
As to the BBC trying to "spoil" ITV's broadcast - what an utter load of tripe.
Possibly the worst conspiracy theory in the world .... ever!

I seriously doubt there were very many people who were waiting for the game on ITV.

Well, this IS a forum about television presentation, Noel, so I would expect such threads to be started.
Do you have a problem with that?

I've already reported that matter to Asa via the forum that used to be a forum but is now just a response frame!
I've edited the thread title to protect your sensitive hearing.
I SAID , I EDITED THE THREAD TITLE ...

No, Sky paid, IIRC, £3million for exclusive rights to show this match live and then the government got involved and asked Sky to basically allow the match to be shown on a terrestrial channel (put it out to tender on an "as-live" basis) so that there was essentially no excuse to go to Turkey to watch it when you can see it on the telly. Sky, having already done this at least once before, gave in and so ITV won the rights.

Wasn't the FA or someone who offered the match to ITV, as part of the arrangements to try to avoid fans going to Turkey?

The results are in the public domain, they can't not mention them just because another TV station somewhere is showing highlights later

8.15 tonight and there is a 'spoiler' news report from the BBC giving the results of tonights games.
Whats the point in this? None, other than to pi55 people off who may wish to watch Casualty prior to turning over to the game on ITV1.

Was it a news report? I can understand that they are in the public domain when the match has been played, so to put them out on one of their bulletins is acceptable, but to add a news report just to tell viewers that results of a football match, when it was 0-0 anyway is a bit over the top by the bbc.
Didnt they even do the, 'if you dont want to know, look away now'?
Whenever I see a news report on a channel, I always think that a something extrodinary has occured, a royal has died, or something has happened that would effect us, such as an asteroids about to hit earth (obviously thats pushing it a bit), but thats what I would expect. If i was watching to be greeted by a news report telling me the results of a football match, I wouldnt except it.
If this is all the case, then it was a ploy by the BBC to try and keep viewers that wanted to watch it on itv1, having not previously seen it.
Though I hope that most people saw through this and wanted to watch anyway. Its more about the players and the match than just the score at the end of the day!
