Mods, feel free to move/close this thread if you feel it isn't in the right place.

I thought it might be interesting to see other people's favourite things relating to TV.. Here goes..

Favourite Terrestrial Channel
ITV1 - Best for entertainment shows - the BBC don't seem to have it in them these days.

Favourite News Channel
Sky News - Although I think it has lost it's 'friendly' feel since the relaunch.

Overall Favourite Channel
E4 - I love the humour used throughout the trailers and the presentation. Also really like E4 Music - it's just how MTV should be in my opinion.

Favourite Presentation on a Channel
E4 - It's just brilliant!

Favourite Recent Programme
Deal Or No Deal - Love it! Although it could become stale very quickly if they don't play around a bit with the format.

Favourite Programme of All Time
Big Brother - I know people will be horrified by this choice, but I love the show. It always seems like a massive event what with all the build up and secrecy surrounding the show.

So what are your favourites?

FAVOURITE TV CHANNEL:
BBC1- Drama and a variation of different themed programmes is more evident than ITV1 where they rely too much on Celebrity driven programmes and soaps.
FAVOURITE TELEVISION PRESENTATION:
BBC2 - The "2" idents are still better than any other TV ident although a refresh is needed.
FAVOURITE TV PROGRAMME OF ALL TIME:
This comes in two choices: The Vicar of Dibley or Jewel in the Crown.
FAVOURITE TV IDENT OF ALL TIME:
The LWT formation of the 70's and 80's. Pure nostalgia.
FAVOURITE DIGITAL CHANNEL:
UKTV Gold. The pres and idents are rubbish and the channel needs an overhaul, but overall the best place to see classic TV from now and then.

Favourite Terrestrial Channel
Channel 4 - Manages to combine entertainment and intelligent programming, and is prepared to do something different.

Favourite News Channel
BBC News 24 - I simply trust them more to get things right, and they don't seem quite so obsessed with gimmicks to deliver the news as Sky is.

Overall Favourite Channel
Channel 4 - For the above reasons.

Favourite Presentation on a Channel
BBC Four - Not really spoilt for choice at the moment, but it has a certain classiness to it.

Favourite Recent Programme
Lost - Sometimes I wish they'd just get on with it, but still finding it engaging and highly watchable.

Favourite Programme of All Time
Coronation Street - I've watched it for as long as I can remember, and it's great at mixing humour and tragedy. Sadly I think it's deteriorated over the past 18 months and has suffered from being on too often.

Favourite Terrestrial Channel
BBC One - Provides a wide variety of different style programming

Favourite News Channel
BBC News 24 - I Like the hard news it provides and absence of advertisments, which other news services in the UK provide

Favourite Presentation on a Channel
BBC Two - I like the Two and the variety of different scenarios it is in, though the idents from Channel 4 are rather good.

Favourite Recent Programme
Deal Or No Deal - Rather compelling viewing and a fresh idea for a game show as opposed to a variation on a programme that has all ready been done.

Favourite Programme of All Time
Father Ted - A classic and hilariously funny comedy everytime it is watched even after 10yrs. Also, IMO, it is a comedy that is yet to be beaten by any others.

Favourite Terrestrial Channel
Channel 4 - Big Brother, ER, cracking movies, Richard and Judy, Countdown, Nip/Tuck, The Simpsons and docus - need I say anymore!

Favourite News Channel
BBC News 24 - Continious news - my kind of thing. Don't like the new 'discussion' Sky News has introduced. The presenters mostly have great chemistry together, Jon and Louise 4-7 is brill!

Favourite Presentation on a Channel
National Geographic - don't know why, I've liked the new look since it launched, its plain and fresh looking.

Favourite Recent Programme
The Apprentice - first I thought it would be rubbish but it had me glued. I can't wait for "your fired" to return later in the month"

Favourite Programme of All Time
Strictly Come Dancing - I love that show to pieces. At least the beeb offers something different and original on a Sat night than ITV's continious talent shows - X Factor, Pop Idol, World Idol, Popstars and now Soapstar Superstar - sounds original!!

Favourite Terrestrial Channel
ITV1 (Scottish TV) - Best for entertainment shows - for the soaps, news and drama

Favourite News Channel
ITV News is now dead, so... Sky News

Overall Favourite Channel
ABC1 - Mostly for Hope & Faith, 8 Simple Rules and Home Improvement

Favourite Presentation on a Channel
Channel 4 is really nice and More 4

Favourite Recent Programme
Paul O'Grady (would that be called recent?)

Favourite Programme of All Time
Big Brother - The best reality show EVER. Celebrity BB starts tonight at 9, on Channel 4
MD
Mr D'Arcy
Favourite Terrestrial Channel
BBC1 - Since ITV decided to ditch quality for crap, I've turned to BBC1 for my entertainment and drama,
Favourite News Channel
BBC News24 - The country's only true news station
Overall Favourite Channel
BBC1 - As I said before, offers 110% more entertainment then ITV
Favourite Presentation on a Channel
Channel 4 - Very original
Favourite Recent Programme
Lost - Long but very gripping!
Favourite Programme of All Time
The Golden Girls - Simply the funniest comedy of all time
BR
Brekkie
Good choices Jay - though as a relative newby to Sky I didn't find the old format "friendly" at all.

Favourite Terrestrial Channel
C4 - the best general mix of drama, comedy, documentary and entertainment. If I had to live with one channel, it be C4.

Favourite News Channel
ITV News - though now it's dead Sky gets the nod

Overall Favourite Channel
C4 Well, no digital channel beats it.

Favourite Presentation on a Channel
E4 - cheeky and informative. C4's is good too - shame that More4's is so unimaginative

Favourite Recent Programme
Deal or No Deal - not sure what your classing as "recent". If it's the last few months I have to agree with you. It's ridiculous how good the show still is

Favourite Programme of All Time
Shameless - Simply the best drama of all time - beautifully written and brilliantly acted. The show where Steve left last year was the best thing I've ever seen on UK television.

Closely followed by Big Brother - and I'd also add The Big Breakfast in there - it's absense has left a huge whole in the schedules.

Favourite Terrestrial Channel
C4 - Usually comes up with the most engaging docus and less formulaic comedy.

Favourite News Channel
N24 - In the shadow of Sky's multi-coloured news emporium, it's set seemed cramped, but somewhat more importantly, I just prefer it's slightly more sedate presentation style. Pivoting desks don't really wash with me Smile

Overall Favourite Channel
E4 - I suppose favourite and 'channel I find myself watching the most' are pretty much the same thing. When randomly channel surfing at night, I often end up at repeats of Peep Show or Father Ted.

Favourite Presentation on a Channel
E4 - The addition of Patrick Allen's voice has really made E4's presentation quite remarkable. My only fear is that when inevitably he ends his time with E4 much of that personality will quickly evaporate. The other day there was a bit of a one-off with a generic woman voicing a Hollyoaks promo, and it was rather unsettingly boring.

Favourite Recent Programme
Desperate Housewives - I watched through the first season when E4 did the re-run which recently concluded, and have been downloading the second season. Great stuff.

Favourite Programme of All Time
Family Guy - I have vouched for FG for many years, and it's wonderful to see the increasing mainstream acceptance of it (which was crucial for its ressurection). As long as it doesn't try to pander to the mainstream audience *cough*Simpsons*cough* I'll remain a big fan Smile

I dont watch alot of Terrestrial TV but here goes...

Favourite Terrestrial Channel
BBC One - Shows most of the shows I choose to watch

Favourite News Channel
Sky News - You can dip in and catch up on the latest stories and breaking news

Favourite Presentation on a Channel
Channel 4 is the best with terrestrial TV, but on digital I think its SkyOne and BBC Four

Favourite Recent Programme
Well I started watching the Sopranos from the start on More4 but that isnt recent, so I would say Deal or No Deal probably.

Favourite Programme of All Time
This is a tough one, there are loads I like, Waking the Dead, Judge John Deed, Father Ted, Little Britian, so to pick one I would say Frasier.
