Didactic is sensationalist-style reporting, which I believe most (with a few exceptions, Channel 4 News and Newsnight are the main two I can think of) news bulletins offered these days have become.
It may be what some modern people want to watch, but not this one, and from the looks of it, I'm not the only one.
