I might have got Alan Cumming & David Tennant mixed up.(Both being Scottish!)

I know the show was broadcast as a regional BBC2 Scotland programme, & I did tape it & transfer it to DVD, so it's in my collection somewhere!

I never even know about this programmes so at least you made me look for this wee gem.

I take it you never recorded Many faces? Its nly been shown once, you'll think it would have been given a repeat something since Saturday 5th, not even on BBC four.

I taped Many Faces too.

Could you upload it somewhere? http://vimeo.com/ or etc? I would be very grateful.

Bing Crosby's Merrie Olde Christmas, Here is another gem from 1977 which also included Stanley Baxter.

This special was filmed by ATV, I know ATV also did 2 other US special including

* Julie on Sesame Street,
* Julie and Dick in covent Garden

Was there a lot of these US Special made in the UK, Bar the other three?

The Australian broadcasters record the entire programme and then use whatever they choose from it. It's quite normal.

I still like that set & those titles (don't remember the filled in ITN logo though), that Theme & the BBC Nine O'Clock News from that same time period are still great IMO Smile

Even if the feed of the News at Ten wasn't planned, it's not unusual for random sources to be left routed up onto outgoing lines.

I'm not sure if it's still the case but the BBC and I think ITN had a slot after each bulletin where they played out clean versions of all the stories to the other broadcasters that take their material.
