Any chance you could cap some of that stuff.

It's funny that you should bring this up, a few weeks ago i wwent looking for old idents from my vhs collection and couldn't find a thing. my mother had taped over it all. Rolling Eyes

I looked for old citv in the summer and found some stuff left but i can remember 2002 black background citv getting taped [my favourites by the way!] but i can't find any left! I have a tv book for 14-20 September or whatever though.

I've just found an old VHS tape from 1996 that contains an edition of "Granada Tonight " with reports on the
immediate aftermath of the IRA bomb attack near the Arndale Centre and M&S in Manchester city centre.

As for "The Hitman And Her", I've got the edition on tape from 1989, lurking about somewhere, recorded
at the La Palais in Hammersmith, when Jason Donovan joined Pete and Michaela as a one off co-host.

I still have the last ever episode of Going Live on tape, from 1993 as well as an episode of Double Dare from 1989 too!! From a year earlier, I have a lot of Comic Relief's original Red Nose Day with the like of Jasper Carrott, Little & Large, Rory Bremner, Dame Edna, Phil Cool, the original Gunk Tank victim (Andy Crane) with Fry and Laurie pulling the lever.....

I have the last ever Going Live as well (in toe with the Chipmunks, one of those telephone computer games with Sarah and a clip of Run the Risk with a young Shane Ritchie and Peter Simon in a boiler suit). I have Comic Relief from 1988 with Lenny Henry, Jonathan Ross and Griff Rhys Jones in a bed! I nearly forgot, I also have about 5 minutes of Coronation Street from 1987 with scenes of Rita's step-daughter Jenny Bradley and boyfriend, Deirdre and Tracy Barlow arguing about Dave (?), and Derek and Mavis Wilton.

I found some CiTV Stuff from the 80's earlier today, there was some puppet doing the in-vision continuity from the control room, but what really annoyed me was when he kept saying "Roll VT" every time for a programme/trailer!. The ident had the ITV logo in big and children's written across it. Also found some Thames Television traliers and itents from the 80's too.

Katherine, are you still recording all the Look North bulletins (both Hull and Leeds) and saving them ? That must be an extensive catalogue by now, how far back does it stretch ?

The most obscure-yet-interesting video I have features an edition of CBBC from around Christmas 1990, presented by Andi Peters and Edd the Duck from the BBC props department!
It includes Tony Heart acting as the giant in the Heartbeat Christmas pantomine and also Andi interviewing Kylie Minogue (in the props room) and Tony Robinson talking about his new single: a remix of "I'm walking in the air"! Following this is an episode of Newsround presented by a very young Krishan Guru-Murthy, and the recording concludes with a trailer for Christmas on 1.
Absolutely wonderful!

Over how many tapes ? And where do you keep them all, and do they ever get a viewing ?
