(I posted this in the Newsroom by mistakes; here is the smaller version;)

Aren't the programme makers in danger of being sued if contestants aren't happy at the nation laughing at them? Especially if they gave up good jobs etc to take part. Being a dupe might not look good on your CV.

It makes more sense that it is the audience who are being hoaxed and the contestants are in on it.

wow, did I touch a nerve?

Don't bother replying, I shan't log in to TV Forum again, I seriously misjudged the type of people who used it. My mistake.

Should have chose DS and stuck with it though, perfect for people not entirely sure if the sky is indeed blue or it's just their mind making it that way.

This issue was raised on Radio 5 last month after the contestants were in isolation. Although the contestants have been made to believe that they really are going to space, they were advised that there would be an unexpected twist in the project (apparently none of them realised this meant that they wouldn't actually be going - presumably a lot of recruitment from the audience of Trisha has been going on them) and had to appoint a close friend/family member to act in their interests and decide whether to let them continue in the knowledge of this twist or whether to have them pulled out of the programme.

Presumably there is a legal agreement between the contestant, the 'friend', and the producers in which the contestant accepts fully the decision of the 'friend', and cannot take any action against the producers as a result of being duped.

I don't know what the others are on about, your post makes perfect sense. In answer to it, they've all signed contracts so they wouldn't be able to sue even if they wanted to.

I assume this is about "Space Cadets". Good idea to actually mention the title of the programme at some point in the thread, don't you think?

OH! Now it makes sence!?! He sort of left out that vital bit of the puzzle.

Just because Kath forgot to write 'Space Cadets' in the title, that's no reason to be so incredibly rude to her.

Before you start insulting people, maybe apply some simple common sense. It's not that hard to work out what the subject matter was. Why couldn't you just ask politely what the topic was rather than spewing abuse so smugly.
My opinion, not that I would normally feel the need to publicise or post it in this way, is that you must be fairly 'basic' people to not get the drift, anyway.

If you applied those manners in the real world you'd end up in hospital before long. It's unnecessary comments like these that have turned the majority of this website into a playground for morons and social *******.
