What do you think is the scariest Ident Ever?

The ATV "In Colour" ident used to scare the living daylights out of me when I was a kid. I couldn't look at or hear it without getting shivers till about 7 years ago.

Something about the circles growing, and the music, which also seemed to "come towards you".

I used to have nightmares about the thing coming out of the screen and hovering in mid-air in front of me, halfway between the screen and my chair. I used to dream of seeing the symbol hovering in front of me whilst sitting on a toilet (a strangely recurring dream), and of just hearing the jingle whilst completely unrelated things happened in my dream. I even once dreamed I was being driven around a large town and there were all these giant billboards each filled with a huge, single ATV logo.

I once dreamed I saw a dinner jacket standing at my bedroom door, no legs or anything coming out of the arms, and the ATV logo appearing in place of the face, the V twitching like a grinning mouth...

I was so glad when Central came along ... and then... "Central Presents..."

I have to say the BBC2 Powder ident. If you find a clean version, listen to the music after the 2 falls. That scared me.

I know it isn't an ident, but seeing a VT Clock at night, scares me!

the TWO clock and into a black screen and the blooping noise from the 80's really gave me the creeps!

BBC Two's "Corridor" is pretty scary in a way.

The S4C idents have always scared me! There's one were the music is this trombone or something but it's just really dark and crisp! I think it was the tap one.

to be honest, really all sorts of test cards scare me. I don't know why but they make me freak.

I'm surprised no-one's mentioned the current BBC2 'Firestarter' or 'Flamethrower' or whatever spangly name it has! I think that's pretty scary - I'm not used to the lovely old 2 breathing fire and jumping all over the place!

As a child I used to feel a bit scared of the Thames Skyline ident... although it did usually mean Rainbow was about to start, so it was generally worth sitting through.

Also, I know it's not an ident, but I was really, properly scared of the titles to Bagpuss. It was the bit where they all came alive, and it went from black and white to colour. Terrifying stuff (well maybe to me only).

Fire

I was scared of TCF too as a kid, partly due to that old Granada(?) ad where they used a morphing technique to turn the girl and the clown older, eventually becoming skeletons. I kept on thinking the same would happen to the real Test Card one night.

The BBC2 TWO era clock scared me too, for some reason.
