Well I know many were scared of the old Open University trumpet music,Leonard Salzedo's "Divertimento for Three Trumpets and Three Trombones"....
And apparently some used to be scared by the Yorkshire chevron...
I believe I was a little bit scared of the old Thames fanfare too!

Not really an ident, but the BBC's "Testcard F" scares the living crap out of me for some reason. I literally collapse when I see it unexpectedly! Dunno why - I just find that creepy 70s era a bit - well - creepy. All those bizarre lines and colours and ... that clown!
Does anybody else find this testcard (well all testcards really) a bit dodgy?

The 1993 4Schools opening idents used to unnerve me a little. A combination of the creepy music, the lightning in the background, the faces just staring at you, and the way the flying paper in one of the idents would loop after a few seconds...
...and, of course, Testcard F. Not just the way the girl and clown would stare at you, but that tone. Don't think I overcame it until 2001...

The BBC2 paint ident with all the 2's hitting the paintpot. The music always sent a chill down my spine ...
