Well when it was the old light blue and orange titles it was nearly identical with just the actual news replaced with update.
Im sure this happens now with the bright pink/purple titles.
Westcountry Sunday Supplement varied a bit more though

Interesting that the Sunday version is West Country (implying the west of the country) not Westcountry (implying a station that they really would prefer us all to call ITV1)... or am I reading too much into this?

The station was called Westcountry, because the area in which they serve as known as 'The Westcountry'. Thus, Westcountry's news service was called Westcountry news.
Bosses in London have now gone for calling everthing 'West Country' to try and get away from the implied station name (it might say 'Westcountry Live' on the titles, but in all listings sources, it will be 'West Country Live'. Slight problem, in that South West England is NOT 'The West Country' but 'The Westcountry', but they aren't letting that get in the way.
As I said though, bizarrely as it may sound, I'm pretty sure that Westcountry Sunday Edition is actually made by Central (something which I feel even more sure of when Sunday Edition came with generic credits at a time when no other regional programming did).

We've had this conversation before and I'm sure it was decided that "the Westcountry" is a more suitable name for the region covered by HTV West.

HTV West basically covers Bristol and the surrounding area for the most part, and on the south western part of it's patch, stretches about 50 miles down from Bristol. Or in other words, the area it covers is geographically very small (which is the main reason why it doesn't exist as a separate franchise). I don't deny that (much of) HTV West's patch is part of what is termed 'The Westcountry' but I don't think you can claim that Devon and Cornwall don't count as being 'The Westcountry' too.
