they have appaling new graphics, the colours are foul, and on the short summeries you can't read some of the writing aghhhh, there is nothing to link it with westcountry news anymore

Yeah, they are the same as the graphics used on HTV West & Carlton Central - so if we have to suffer them, there is no reason why you shouldn't!!!

They have started to put the names of towns on the HTV West map so you know where the hell you live!! it was not that easy to tell before that;)

Well on our map it makes the south west look radio active because they use a really bad aqua to outline or region - our news will be featuring stars soon!

evil, pure evil ..... now if carlton think anybodys going to sponsor the weather now, being as everybody now changes channels to see the bbc weather at 6:25, they are sorely mistaken. the head of new ideas at carlton HQ was probably bored and started poking round the company for a new challenge, you know what they say, 'an idle mind is the devil's workshop' and there is something satanic about the new graphics.

above all central weather (and i presume westcountry weather) are now completely useless, the weather is poorly illustrated and its difficult to see where you live.

i also wonder whether carlton london will be taking the graphics ... i think not - favouriteism me thinks.

someone at carlton is laughing at us! we don't need names on our maps because our region has a very definate shape, but they put them on anyway! to my the graphics illustrate how carlton don't want any viewers, as they imho want to phase out regional news and weather - it is the beginning of the end, carlton = evil

btw - does anyone know how many viewers the regional programmes get, in comparison to bbc regional programmes, westcountry seems very lackluster now!

I haven't looked at the figures for a while now but Spotlight always used to beat WestCountry - sometimes by quite a lot.

Spotlight is around 40% share, Points West around 42% (sometime both are a lot higher)

ITV usually average about 15-18%
