Talking of Westcountry and all that, can someone remind me who Jo Cole is. About 2 years ago (er...yes it was 2 years ago, when Carlton had their lovely idents....summer 2002) anyway, I was in the Westcountry and saw the local news with its local opt-out at about 6:15 and all I can remember is this woman's name. Its stuck in my head ever since. She was presenting the Local, Local news and it was the Westcountry, West regional bit I was watching. Does she do the Local, Local bit anymore or not? Did she just do the West bit or the South and any other micro-regions too?
Also, On Sky I have noticed we get the South Local Opt-out. Is it because the South is the biggest or something? Like I said, I saw the West version (Do you have to be right down to get the west version? Lands End, Penzance etc? Where abouts does the West end and the South opt-out start?)

The South opt comes out of Plymouth and so probably does cover the biggest number of people. It may also have been easier to accomodate for technical reasons too.
West comes from Truro and covers most of Cornwall. South mainly covers South Devon and North mainly covers North Devon, whilst East mainly covers the extremeties of their area (i.e. the bits of Somerset that aren't covered by HTV West and the bits of Dorset that aren't covered by Meridian)

Beacon Hill (ar) & Stockland Hill (ar) - East - Exeter/Taunton/Torquay/Weymouth
Huntshaw Cross (ar) - North - Barnstaple
