Tonight's the night when Wales becomes the first nation of the UK to complete Digital Switch Over. Wenvoe was the first transmitter site in Wales, and is transmitting Wales' last analogue pictures tonight. BBC ONE Wales will finish analogue transmissions at around 23:57 and both ITV1 Wales and S4C at just after midnight.

I don't know if S4C have anything planned to mark the event, but the BBC Wales presentation team certainly don't intend the occasion to go unmarked, so if you're within aerial's reach of Wenvoe, do have a look Wink

Did that special treat go out on analogue only then Steve?

All analogue gone from Wenvoe now.

If you want to be really pedantic, Wales isn't quite digital yet because of the analogue signals from English transmitters! Smile

Thanks for them, ITV's actually turned out to be quite well timed though in the end, albeit probably unintentionally!

BBC1's was very well done. S4C's was probably good but I've no idea what he was saying

It's nice to see they still had the ability to feed out a fully separate analogue and digital service for BBC One Wales in place these days, as I doubt it's been used often in everyday use now for a while. Certainly a good effort by everyone in the Welsh pres teams at both BBC Wales and S4C last night.

Nothing exciting on BBC Wales Digital... unless forgetting to finish the anno over Zeotrope before it completely ran out over on BBC Two Wales was supposed to be a treat. Laughing

The S4C website can't cope with the loss of analogue: it needed to have a lie down...

Really nice junction from BBC Wales, liked that a lot.
Lots of thought about the script and graphics to accompany it.
If only network presentation from London was as friendly these days.

I liked what BBC Wales did - although I was half expecting the globe to be accompanied by the national anthems when it appeared!

Very well done BBC Wales. Was this the inspiration? (go to about 09.20" in)

Was there anything special in the Welsh version of this week's Radio Times, or did they just go from printing the S4C analogue stuff to S4C Digidol in its place on the channel 1-5 pages?
