I really cant say much for the nightshift, it just seems to have 1hour bloke of programmes which is repeated 3 times, at least there is a LIVE CA, and with plenty of people emailing and txt in.

when it comes to the Classic nightime, there still no signs of the

* 1993 - 1995 London night time service
* 1994 - 2000 Anglia/meridian
* 1996 - 2000 HTV

But we can live in hope and hopeful there will appear, thus filling in on the missing piece of jigsaw. There some new clips added to interweb

* Unseen (online) Version of Granada night time: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Nz7NPFKwsAI
* Cleaner version granada Xmas ident: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qtpOqAoaBe8
* STV ealry 90's http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Wfm0y5FCdv8

* 1992: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bKCMe7PjK9I
* Thames at 6am : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=44K_XOZdPl4&feature=related

It may interest some that London 1993 Idents have come to light... you can see them in this thread " tv ark"

http://www.tvforum.co.uk/forums/post676469?sid=bd6a4bc95f788990c8df1322342204a4#post676469

It seems there two unanswered questions:

* Did Carlton use them?
* Were there used from Jan 1993 - July 1995?

I hope some Londoners might be able to shed some light to all this

This does only leave the following as missing in presentation terms:

* UNN ( Meridian/ Anglia ) 1994 - 1998
* HTV 1996 - 1999

I remember these, they were LWT's... hence the '3 nights' - Friday, Saturday, Sunday. They probably pre-date 1993

Thanks for that information, Does this mean Carlton London used normal idents over night? Or did there use something else?

No I have not seen that new video, so thanks! Did this branding continue when Anglia was brought by Meridian?

Carlton/Thames would used other 'ITV' branded graphics, which ones though I can't remember

I'm not too sure if they are, as there quite a few clips on YouTube (look on Antartica Television's channel) of ITV Night Time in 1992, with many of them being LWT variants, you can tell this as there are no announcers and programme menus seem to be preferred. I think must only be a post 1993 thing, obviously this thread is ongoing and there's virtually no evidence to what was shown overnight in some Regions between 1993-95, but surely this 'ITV Nights' ident must have been London originated and probably shown on some other Regions, as many regions such as HTV and Anglia dropped their own Night Time in favour of whatever came from Thames and LWT.

The 'ITV 3 Nights' did originate at LWT yes... hence the '3 nights'

You're right, without any context in the clips you can't tell when they were used.

Yes, otherwise there would have been no need for any 'ITV' branding at all

I was able to date the idents as June 1993: Biggest clue was this programme line up Cue the muisc HAPPY MONDAYS (06/06/1993) http://ftvdb.bfi.org.uk/sift/series/20323

For it been seen in other areas? No, HTV and Anglia both switched to Granada service in 1993. It was not until 1995 when pan night time service from london come back into operation. ( it beg the question why "ITV") If some other company did take can you inform us who? Confused

( on tv room plus there are listings for two date on in 93 and another in 96 which does prove HTV never took LWT feed here is listings from 1993 or 1996-)

for more info can be seen here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Night_Network it still ongoing this page and there is still missing gaps.

If any one can found more presentation from around 1993 - 1998 it will most welcome!

Thanks

Rare use of the generic 1989 ITV ident there, with no regional branding - and a very odd LWT still caption just as the film begins - was this intentional?
