Is there a thread for "Weekend"?

Aled Jones is currently on Saturday Kitchen Live as a last minute guest. The original guest pulled out this morning for appearing on the program so they "grabbed Aled fro the studio next door". Which must mean that the new series of Weekend is already being filmed. When is it scheduled to be back?

Christmas, then a new series next year.

I thought weekend wouldn't get past a first series, although it's not too bad. Hopefully they've changed a few things to help the show flow better. The format is certainly different to the usual cookery chat type shows. I believe it's common practice to pre record shows before the Christmas season, e.g let's do lunch has a spin off show in December, which i believe is pre recorded in September.

Many people were surprised it made it to air in the first place.

The production of a Christmas show (and ANOTHER series) tends to indicate that there is a market for meaningless chat for semi-comatose people on weekend mornings.

Almost. The series airing in the couple of the weeks before this Christmas was recorded back in August, whilst the set was standing for the usual 'Let's Do Lunch' series.

And yes, on the audience ticket shout-out were asked to dress 'appropriate' for mid-December - even though it would be in the mid-20's outside.

Although Weekend only manages to get 100k viewers per episode. I'm surprised this is making ITV enough money to warrant another series.

Weekend must be getting better views than 'scrambled' and citv in the mornings. Slightly off topic, but I wonder what happened to Sunday side up/scoop. The ratings weren't that magnificent either.

Not necessarily, demographics are important too.

Interesting to be putting Weekend on the 25th and 26th, considering that ITV/GMTV haven't bothered to put any non-kids shows in that slot for a very long time. It's probably easy to guess that GMB will be off on those days.

Interesting decision, and could be nice to offer a nice bit of Christmas chat and celebration especially on Christmas Day morning.

I wonder if GMB will air on the 29th, 30th & 31st or if they will take a break until the New Year.

That's a bad mistake actually, I would have preferred a movie on at those times.
