Ulrika may be the most famous ex-weather girl, but what do weather girls and TV presenters do when the barometer is static or the ads are running?
Last year I was at a half day business conference (for non business people!) at the NIA Birmingham hosted by Emma Jesson. She combines girl next door appeal and credibility. Well when did she last get the weather wrong? I am going again in September - and it may be Adrianne Lawler at the mike. Fans of either get in touch for more details

Many of us do this sort of thing to supplement our income. UK (news) presenters start off on around £60k and it's all negotiable from there upwards. You could earn a lot more by doing more mudane jobs - broadcasting can be quite badly paid. I remember when I first did radio reporting for a local station a decade a go, it was eight grand a year. You shouldn't go into journaism if you want to be rich - there's only so many really well-paid jobs after all, compared to somewhere like the City where there is literally millions of highly paid jobs.
