The Weather Channel was one of the most boring channels ever put on analogue Sky.

I've re-created the logo:

Now I'm sure this is how the logo looked, a nice plain and simple one. It sat up in the left or right top corner, quite small. I can't remember if this was the font used - for this one I created, I used Arial Rounded.

The circular box is narrower (more like a square), and the font is more like Arial Narrow than Arial Rounded.

The good folks at TV ARK have added a Weather Channel video at:
TV ARK

It is from the early days of The Weather Channel, as 'Weatherscope' was on at :00, :20 & :40.

For the majority of the time TWC was on SKY, Weatherscope was only on at :00 and :30.

I think it dates from Jan/Feb 1997, as 'Snow and Ski report' was scheduled!

So it might look a bit different than you remembered!

Its actually more likely to be December 1996, as the advert right at the start says 'Starts Boxing Day'Very Happy

I remeber The Weather Channel - I never knew the scrolling thing at the bottom of the screen was regionalised! (But that would explain the continuous appearance of 'London Heathrow' on the bottom of my screen). With NTL (Formerly Cable & Wireless and Videotron) here in the West London area, I remember we had 'The Parliamentary Channel' 'Euronews' and 'The Weather Network' (changing a few months later to The Weather Channel) all on the same channel, which was channel 4. Then The Weather Channel moved to channel 39 and shared with The Travel Channel.

Both of those have now ceased to exist, unfortunately. I remember the caption at the end of The Weather Channel's 'rain' (no pun intended) which was in English and German. The next channel to be on channel 39 was ITV2 as far as I remember.
