Weather advert sponsors

What do people think to weather broadcasts that have sponsors at the beginning of the broadcast? GMTV's ad is very tedious and seems like a 5 minute thought went into producing it. Sky news weather ad is a little better but still completly rubbish compared to what they could produce. What do people think to Carltons weather since they dropped the ad, the music is fantastic.

I really like the post-Staybright Central Weather. Have Carlton also introduced those weather titles in the two HTV regions?

Weather intro's are typically poor. However I think the best ones around are YTV's Yorkshire Electricity intro's. The woman with the umbrella, the man with the toupee and the boy with the ice cream. Have I missed any, there must be a snowy one. They need to produce a few more really.

Yep. There is a snowy one. there's a bloke walking around with headphones on int he snow, then a drift of snow blows him over.

Yeah, isn't Sky News weather sponsored by RyanAir? Coz I think that is tacky.

Theres also the rarely seen BBQ titles, as now on TV BOX.

Plus of course there are also the YE Home Services ones, which appeared for a time twice.

The Boy and Ice Cream titles seems to be unseasonally used today!

This actually was always heard on TV, (Its not a fault with the realvideo), any ideas where it came from?

None of the weather sponsors seem very well suited to weather-related slogans. Remember 'PowerGen - generating electricity [mock hilarity]... whatever the weather'?

Guinness should sponsor the weather... 'The weather in association with Guinness - it's always cold, wet and cloudy.'

Central Weathers current ones are quite good (and no sponsor! I hate sponsors, the ads are always wrong...), and Carlton Londons ones have nice music.
