I think it actually ended up back on BBC Two by the end, albeit in the afternoon rather than early evening.

After the final ep on the 31st March 2012 on BBC One, the show moved back to BBC Two for repeats of earlier series (Series 2/3 era) in the 1pm slot on TWO.

TWL has not been on ONE since the 31st March 2012.

I still think with 1693 eps in the can, BBC Two should still be showing them and making use of them, test the water for a comeback?

I doubt BBC Two will show ancient episodes of The Weakest Link anytime soon.

As do I, regrettably. I mean, though, TWL hasn't been doing at all badly on Challenge repeats (except for that rather odd 4am timeslot). I do think there's no reason why it couldn't come back, if done well.

Robert Rinder on it would be fantastic.

The last few months of new episodes of episodes were on BBC Two, initially at 4:30 (switching with Pointless), and drifted earlier in the schedules until the end. The final ep, which went out early Saturday evening on BBC One, I believe to give it a bit of a send off. As you say, after this repeats went out on BBC Two until at least 2015 (as I remember staying in a hotel around then and an episode was on in the reception area). As said, I think a few repeats would be a good idea, to test the water, or possibly even in the BBC One 2:15 slot?

It makes no sense to show repeats of a gameshow that's been off the air since 2012. If the BBC want to make a reboot of The Weakest Link, they'll do so.

If it is airing at 4am it can't be doing that well.

It seems the producers of this revival aren't exactly thick skinned, making threats now to BuzzerBlog (the US equivalent of Bothers Bar) for their reviews not being positive enough. The Governess has stepped up to their defence.
