Not sure what to make of it, not sure it's needed on the already busy daytime gameshow scene and I'm not sure it's been missed. Seems to be coming back for a Children in Need special and talks of a possible series.

I do think The Weakest Link became a better programme after the initial peak once Anne started to lighten up a bit.

Now, six years after it last aired, Anne Robinson and The Weakest Link are returning.
The hit BBC1 show is coming back in November for a one-off celebrity special for Children In Need, whilst the 72-year-old host is in final stages of talks with the corporation to bring the programme back for good next year.

I think it seems a bit early for another go at it and I think it might be nice to see a comedian to present it.

EDIT: Having read the article properly seems it'll just be a Saturday night celeb series which makes sense.

It could do with a Bradley Walsh type, I reckon. I wasn't an avid viewer, but as a format it never seemed to get too tired. Lots of play-along-at-home value, too.

I did not even notice it had gone until a few years ago.

I wouldn't agree with that it still needs someone who will make fun of the contestants and Bradley Walsh probably isn't sharp tongued enough.

When Anne started to have some fun with the contestants, it became more enjoyable to watch. It was very similar to what you see on The Chase. I think the play-along value is much better than Pointless too where, if you don't know much about what is already a very niche topic, you're waiting between 10-15 minutes for something else to come up.

Agreed, the show got much better after the initial buzz had died down, every so often when I used to catch it.

Not really sure why this show needs to return so soon? It's still recent in people's memory and ran its course IMO.

Children in Need at the cutting edge of entertainment as per usual it seems.

What shall we do for 2017? The Weakest Link?

The show needs someone who can deliver the waspish put-downs. Someone like Bradley Walsh would be to chummy. I might be on my own here, but I think Robert Rinder would be perfect for it.

That's a good shout actually.

That seems to be less of a problem with the celebrity editions - the topics tend to be geared better to guesses.

The celebrity editions seem to be the ones doing well - it's the daily programme that's sunk in the ratings, hasn't it? Maybe they think they need to rest Pointless Celebrities a bit to stop that sinking too.
