I am not in the UK so don't get to see this programme. But I know that Denise Welch is in it. Is she still taken seriously as a good actress back in the UK, as I can only ever see her now as a Loose Woman and can't at all imagine her in a serious acting role any more. Sorry to say.

I trained 20 years ago, and even then it was considered "old hat" to refer to female actors as "actresses".

They're correctly referred to as actors.

Gavin is correct. Non-actors call females "actresses" but those on the stage call them "actors".
