Glad it's coming back. Isn't there rumours to rotate Waterloo Road and Holby City so that both are on all year round but fortnightly instead of weekly? I think that'd be a fairly good compromise so you don't get too bored of it being on week after week.

I agree, that would be a lot better than Holby City being on every week.

Casualty at least does get a break although it is only a few weeks a year it seems.

It's pointless with Casualty though because they always catch up by having extra Sunday episodes usually at the start and end of a series. It's the same with Holby - when displaced in the scheduled rather than giving the show a much needed week off something elsewhere normally gets bumped out of the schedule to ensure that weeks episode is shown.

I agree though the last thing the BBC needs is another week in, week out drama - what they really need is another 20+ episode serial that could alternate with Waterloo Road.

I suppose they're moving it to Wednesdays because it's a particularly weak night for BBC One, and as cylon said, it'll give them more of a presence. Shows how much confidence they have in it that they believe it will perform well without an EastEnders lead-in.

I'd probably opt for it over The Bill these days.

A superb episode tonight, well written and good to see the chemistry between eddie and rachel still there. Whilst being very dramatic, it had some great comic moments too!

What's the chances of the young thug with the gun going on a journey and becoming a model pupil by week 20?

Although it is a decent fast paced hour (and a half tonight), the plot lines are often very obvious and contrived

Strange there was no mention of Mika and Brett

Well obviously its contrived. If it wasn't it would be a very boring and slow moving drama. I agree, was strange that there were missing links in continuity. Maybe these will be solved as the series continues.

They were in upper sixth last year so will have left school. Though I hope they don't just forget they existed...

Just watched it and a decent episode to open the new series. I was also surprised they didnt mention Mika and Brett too.

Yet another ex Corrie actress joining the series too.

And two Casualty actors - they played Sam and Guppy but can't remember the names of their Waterloo Road characters. One might be Rob.
