Only niggle left now is the audience and celebrity guest which still seem a little pointless.

...and the muppet riding on the bike with Matt. I appreciate that there is need for care in the community, but I don't need to watch someone on day release playing a senseless role in a consumer affairs programme. Shocked

That's how Rogue Traders has been since the beginning; you'll have to get used to it or skip the Rogue Traders part.

This is also why I think Rogue Traders should have been kept as a separate programme.

All the more reason why they should've taken the opportunity to remove such pointless aspects from Rogue Traders .

I already have to skip through most of that element of Watchdog as they feel the need to repeat most of what they showed in the previous segment.

Watchdog could quite easily be a 30 minute programme and still convey they same amount of information by simply cutting down on the condescending repetition; it seems to be aimed at those with the intellectual ability of a Cbeebies audience.

BBC1's Watchdog to go out live
BBC1 consumer programme Watchdog is to be revamped and will reappear next spring as a live show.

The Anne Robinson-fronted series was due to return in the new year following a relaunch last autumn, but has been put back by a couple of months while the format is rethought.

That's great news! It seems most of our complaints since relaunch have been sorted; they're actually listening! Very Happy

BTW who is Attentional? I thought the ratings were controlled by BARB.

I thought it was live anyway.

Attentional also provide Digital Spy with their ratings information - seems like a private company offering overnight ratings. Not sure if they're in anyway linked to BARB or if they supply their own information, though, nor am I sure how accurate they are.

Thanks. Like you, I wonder how they collect their data and thus, how accurate it is.

The most recent series, presented by Anne Robinson, has been pre-recorded (some of the shows had a horrible post-production film effect on the studio bits, and you could often see/hear obvious edits on some studio interviews).

The previous series with Nicky Campbell were live.

That is does. Haven't watched it at all since Robinson returned, but quite often found myself channel hopping at 7.30pm and sticking with Watchdog with Nicky Campbell.
