Looks a bit too 'daytimey' to me!

I can't get my head around this. It's like they found out they couldn't afford to rent a studio after they'd had a set made so just had it struck in a corridor somewhere.

I think the set, even in the corridor, looks absolutely fantastic. Bright, airy, spacious. I don't think the average viewer would think they were in a corridor - it looks like a deliberate design choice and one that I think pays off. I love the titles and the branding too. It finally looks and feels like a modern consumer magazine show.

The only complaint I have is that it's still SUCH a traditional television format. We've all seen the top story - poo in coffee - all day, all over the web, including the BBC's own website. For the script to try and 'tease' this report for the first few minutes of the show is dumb, we've seen it already.

"find out what this expert was talking about" - we already know.

Does anyone else find that set really early-00s? With the @ sign and everything?

I think Watchdog isn't going to be any good until they get Anne Robinson back which is more of a big if. I think the Nicky Campbell era also seems to be remembered fondly and as it's based at Media City with Five Live I wonder why they haven't got him back.

It'd be fantastic to have her back, she was a very strong interviewer and she really made the programme for me though sadly I can't see that happening.

Definitely better than last year, and it works much better with the new titles than they did with the old set. That said, I still preferred the 'orangey' titles and set. I'm not a massive fan of Steph or Nikki on Watchdog - I'm not really sure the programme suits them and I don't think the chemistry is really there between the three of them like it was with Chris, Matt and Anne for example. For me, this is what the programme is lacking at the moment.

The round pictures on set have brightly coloured backgrounds and a high saturation that really does make me think of that.

I couldn't stand the chummy banter between the three of them. This is more on a par with the Campbell/Bradbury era.

I wonder how it's going to work in the winter months when it's darker earlier?
