Watchdog does feel as if it's in limbo at the moment Michelle is a good journalist, but clearly not presenter material, while Sophie has had experience of working with the BBC consumer unit on the daytime Watchdog spin-offs, while solid, her middle class delivery isn't as strong as Anne Robinson.
The stars at the moment are Matt Allwright who has come into his own, especially doing the interview segments and Chris Hollins who I haven't really rated, feeling that he was Anne's lackey has improved now he has a stronger role in presenting.
Personally I'd have Matt and Chris as a double act with Sophie and Michelle doing reports.

Not even kidding. I think Kay would be great. Regardless, I definitely think they need one figurehead who's there every week.

She'd do alright with the interrogation of wrongdoing companies but she has an acidic reputation of being cold hearted, unfeeling, and frankly deluded in some cases. Also I can't imagine somebody so painstakingly associated with Sky going over to work on a BBC show which, only the other week, was attacking Sky for their difficult cancellation procedures.
