Both stations are now running promos for their new on air competition that will commence next week. During an ad break there will be an opportunity for viewers to win prizes, if they answer a simple question about the programme they are currently watching. The idea behind the promotion is to encourage viewers to stay tuned to the stations. I am sure this will appeal to Grampian viewers; however the down side is there could be a high proportion of winners from the STV region, as it is a dual station competition.

Yup, the promos have both SMG logos on it. Sounds interesting.

Oh dear... blatant UTV rip-off Wink

Wonder if STV and Grampian viewers will get your equivalent of Julian Simmons (or at the moment on UTV, Frank Mitchell) popping up in each commercial break with the day's question?

Have to say, having seen this in action a few times, it's wonderfully confused branding. Most of the time on SMG channels all you see is four blue squares, then all of a sudden you're seeing two logos coming up. What channel am I watching again?

I suppose they couldn't do two versions if the winners are going to be blatantly outwith the area (a Grampian TV logo with a winner from Glasgow would be obvious), but if there was ever a time they should be using the four generic squares, this is surely it.
