Speaking of Google Adwords, I noticed this rather funny one at the top of the topic.

Just about sums up why some people get Sky. Laughing

I repeat again, there are no scams related to Sky, their encryption is mega tough.

There's also one that says "Bbc News West", even though when you click on it, you don't get taken to 'the latest headlines' as it claims it will, but instead to Ask Jeeves.

I think we can come to a conclusion from this that all of these ads are a load of crap.

Indeed, they're all hits, or is the 's' at the wrong end?

Asa could easily add the domain names of the dodgier ads to the filter which might allow some more reputable (but less high-bidding) advertisers to get onto the page.

The flip side is that the ads are more reputable so people may be more likely to click.

I filtered out all the eBay affiliates etc from the Adsense ads which run on my site and generally I get ads of a reasonable quality.

It serves them right for not investing in encryption like Sky, they should upgrade their Nagravision system like they have done in Europe.

Telewest however still knocks out completely unencrypted pay channels on VHF (and even a couple on UHF) - all you need to do is tune them in.

Encryption on cable however is not such a big deal - DTT and DSAT delivery systems are doomed without secure encryption because they have no means of actually preventing reception. Cable operators however have the ultimate access control system to fall back on - they can just disconnect your wire in the cabinet. Broken encryption or no broken encryption, you aint getting jack s**t for free if they do that.

Yep I used to watch these encryption channels via this method. Laughing
