Odd as a trailer just aired using the new look on Gold (it was a trailer for Grimm). It looked a bit naff to be honest.

Oh really? I've only seen the tacked on old logo version.

Clearly, they wanted it ready for the pre-Grimm shtick, that hasn't happened but they've gone ahead and slapped their fancy new logo over it anyway.

You'd have thought they'd be good at this rebranding thing by now given their experience...

They are displaying the new DOG during ' Grimm' , but using the existing ident package.

This looks very sloppy and disjointed. It's a text book example of how NOT to do a relaunch/revamp! Shocked

Channel 5 did the same back when they moved from ( 5 ) to five : they screened their premiere of Saving Private Ryan sans DOG and with new breakbumpers et al, but moved back to the ( 5 ) pres afterwards before the full relaunch soon after.

That was my first thought too, when I saw the text on the promos. Blatant copying of Discovery's style! Confused

Well that old/new ECP doesn't look a mess...

C5 have claimed Gotham + red, so don't see that as a wise choice at all. Add Viva to the mix too with the use of lime green, bleugh.

The logo looks like one of those 20p toy machine capsules. The idents *might* save it.

The spacing on the EPG positions text is frankly unforgivable.

What's the point of the full stop after the channel title? I keep thinking it's a © copyright symbol. Confused

If they were going to squash up the letters in WATCH so much, they could've at least chosen a font where the angle of the 'A' was the same as the 'W'. It looks as though it was created in 2 minutes! I hope they didn't pay much for this.
