Watch Dogs on The One Show!

...or rather Watchdog gets axed and merged with The One Show (February 2020)

Maybe they should include Crimewatch as part of The One Show as well, as that was another element of PSB that the BBC recently axed after relaunching.

It will be interesting if it’s just the frothy bits of Watchdog, as The One Show is hardly known for serious matters, without a ridiculous gear change into the next item anyway.

Couldn't they have merged the two and had Crimewatchdog? Very Happy

Could you imagine(!)

“Coming next on The One Show, Our Crimewatch update with an appeal on the brutal murder of an 80 year old grandmother in pure daylight.
But first, Giles Brandreth is here to tell us about the history of the competitive sport of Tiddlywinks.”

DIY SOS can't be cheap to make, those home improvements cost money. Don't be surprised if that ends up on the chopping block too.

Quite a lot of what you see on home improvement shows are blagged in (or in DIY SOS's case 'donated') and there's even a section on their website where you can volunteer your own time to help them with the builds. I think it would be quite a cheap show to make in the grand scheme of things and still rates well.

You forgot asking the random celeb who is on to plug something for their opinion on the Crimewatch reconstruction VT.

I’ve been thinking of how other BBC shows could be merged together in order to save money.

Holby City could become a 2 minute interlude within an episode of Casualty.

Fridays edition of EastEnders could see residents travel to the Mill in the Letherbridge, due to it being the nearest place to Walford they can get a GP appointment within the next 6 months.

Politics Live could give out BBC One’s Impossible jackpot to anyone who gets a politician to give a truthful answer.

RuPaul’s Drag Race could work well as a strand called ‘lip sync for the lord’ within an episode of Songs of Praise.

And Newscast is already Pointless.

Holby was already a spin-off of Casualty, so lets spin/mix them back together and we'll have Casualty City.

Could merge some of the dance shows, so "who is Strictly's Greatest Dancer?"

"Escape to the Homes Under The Hammer which are Wanted Down Under"

"Flog Hunt" - Flog it and Bargain Hunt, though Flog It is ending soon anyway.

"Casualty City" sounds like a PS4 game where you play an ambulance driver!

Better mash-up for Flog It and Bargain Hunt - "Flog the Bargain".

You could stick "Pointless" in front of nearly anything to make a mashable show - Pointless Casualty where we're just after the hospital with the least number of deaths in the last year, Pointless Homes under the Hammer where the idea is to buy the cheapest crappiest property you can for the least amount of money, and Pointless Question Time, where the audience asks the most ridiculous question they can think of in search of an answer that sticks.
