Did I hear the dulcet tones of everyones favourite announcer on the Booze Cruise this evening ?

Yes, wasn't Dame Maggie the ferry terminal voiceover ?

I am very sure I too heard Dame Magdeline as the wonderful announcer. It's good to know that Maggie is keeping herself busy and is still loved by Yorkshire Television.

What with Maggie's stints on Emmerdale, HSBC phone banking, Asda FM and now as a ferry terminal announcer - could Maggie be staging a comeback? I hope so.

Well, what do you expect?

The programme WAS sponsored by HSBC!

Yes! I didn’t think anybody would recognise me.

Automated Information Kiosk work isn’t worlds from my days at YTV.

Keep an ear out for a new voice activated automated Vaseline dispenser which will be hitting the high streets around Christmas time for more dulcet drones!

She was very fluent in French wasn't she ? I expect voicing those GCSE french aural exams helped.

Such an insult coming from you, or anyone in your part of the region is hurtful. If you look at the picture of Maggie Mash from TCB, you'll find that she bares an astonishing physical resemblance to Ronald McDonald.

I'm afraid I'm not a Maggie Mash fan. I know it's sacrilege to say, but that is the case. Or at least it was.

So there I was last Friday needing to have a go at HSBC. I called the number and (un)surprisingly there was a queue. But I didn't mind. I didn't mind because the wonder that is the Mash politely explained to me that no operators were free to take my call. After some gorgeous music, the lady reappeared to apologise. The way she said "We are sorry that you are still in a queue" told me that she herself was surprised how busy HSBC were that day.

Thanks Maggie. Thanks for just being there.

I think you'll find it's Bob Preedy who does the HSBC phone system.

You are clearly a duplicate username. You'd only posted 3 times previous to this topic appearing, so I reckon that you logged out of your existing username and put on your alter-ego "Maggie" pseudonym.

It can't be that you were just passing through on the offchance of a Maggie Mash topic. Can any mods check IP's and then do the necessary ?

I didn't watch it myself, I was watching Pop Idol Extra over on ITV2, it seems I've missed a good one there.

And this Maggie Gash character, its quite obvious it is someone who doesn't come from any of the regions that Maggie used to serve
