Well I've been watching Sky News on the net for about a half hour now and it's not as bad as I thought it would be. I don't mind the white in teh graphics -- but the large text size and blue and red are really abusive to the eye…why did they chose blue and red!? I liked the graphics during the election better…The studio is better than I expected -- he video wall is pretty cool. As for the coverage, it seems to be fine -- I wish we could get Sky News in America - don't know why we couldn't…
I'm fine with MSNBC's astons, but their huge spinning globe with the place name written on needs to go - it's so pointless.
I was left gob smacked after seeing CNN Domestic's graphics. They're so awful it's untrue. They had nice simple astons but what the hell is all of this
TARGET : TERRORISM
rubbish? They've really broken ranks with that live DOG too! That's a serious move for CNN, the live DOG is always near the CNN logo. CNN International have made a minor balls up with the graphics. Just how many graphics do we need to tell us something is happening? They've got 4 layers of graphics, and I thought Sky was bad! Although I'm convinced Sky isn't finished yet, there are still things to come, I'm sure of it.
I've not really been too impressed with CNN. But then again you've got to remember this is not - as CNN's Aaron Brown pointed out - a TV war. The last TV war was Kosovo and we all know who won that, don't we...
This war really isn't for TV networks, and the sort of coverage we're seeing really shows that. So from the viewers perspective this is not going to be a great war to watch on television.
That comment about a Fox viewer emailing Sky to say they should remain on Fox for as long as possible isn't surprising, judging by the sort of news that can be found in the US. I'd be interesting to see what sort of an audience Sky would get in the USA. Sky is such an odd channel in that it ranks above BBC World in Europe and in other areas of the world. It's viewing figures are right next to CNN and Euronews's, which is quite amazing considering it's mainly a domestic service. I'm sure a lot of the coverage is relevant to overseas viewers - especially at a time like this - but on a day to day basis the coverage is mainly domestic and so it does make you wonder how it gets such high overseas audiences.
I think It'd be a great idea for all (obviously excluding CNN) of the US 24 hour news channels to be broadcast over here. It's great to get a totally American perspective on events, and just gives the viewer a wider choice. Fox News looks like it's on its way, and I've got my fingers crossed that CNBC will take more MSNBC coverage overnight.

WBR was just on BBC World and Patrick O'Connell was presenting a report on music-sharing services. He typed in BBC and he said that he got this: -- it was the New24 countdown music and he put it up pretty loud and he said something like you all know what this is -- and then went on with making an example or whatever

There was an attempted hijacking of an AA plane earlier today by a mentally-disturbed person. MSNBC broke the story about 20 minutes ago -- CNN JUST broke the story. God they've been behind on breaking every story since these strikes began. What the hell are they doing in Atlanta? Probably working on more ****
ty graphics to put on air!

CBC is using this title for the coverage: 'RETALIATION'.
And c@t says Canadians CAN get SkyNews... you have Fox News already.

The Sky graphics, to me, look... okay. American big, but not awful like MSNBC or Fox(from what little I've seen of it... the cable system here will FINALLY add Fox News on the 26th). CNN... well, the only thing that bothers me is that awful headline graphic... and without 'LIVE' under CNN, it just ain't CNN. I'm still transfixed by BBC America/World... too bad they're putting BBC America promo filler on in place of the World stuff... maybe they'll let sopme of it slip thru tonight again As for Sky News on Fox... I hope it continues on the 26th... *begins to pray profusely*
OK.. how do I change my BBC News region? I know Alek has his listed as BBC America/BBC World... how can I change it?(I tried to do it manually... it's not really working, and America/World isn't one of the choices...)
Interesting about CNN being last. They're usually well ahead of the game.
MSNBC are really well prepared for this war. They have graphics prepared, special studios, correspondents. The whole lot has been really impressive.
This obviously isn't CNN's war.

Yeah EDTV asked me how to do that before -- I can manually do it on my browser (mac os x - omniweb) but apparently you can't do it manually under other browsers -- sorry
Maybe Asa could make a new topic under the pop-up menu??
The Sky/Fox thing will probably go on for quite some time. They've got nothing to lose from doing it and everything to gain - money mainly. As a lot of networks lose money hand over fist by putting top anchors out overnight, Fox and Sky can have the full services overnight on their channels by simply joining up. Makes a great deal of sense.
Foxnews.com says Sky News Live is to be shown again tonight.
