CTV Newsnet

He's surrounded in so many mics! And look - the Al-jazeera mic flag!

Gee, I'm SOO glad Clorets manages to get some subtle adverts done during an important news conference...

And notice how CTV Newsnet is calling the Pakistani  leader the 'Mililary Ruler' while CBC Newsworld is calling him the 'President'.... odd... Razz:

OT, but I found this on design in motion -- it's about the CBC's rebrand - there are some nice pics -- I watched a CBC Special Report on C-SPAN last night and it was pretty good -- an overall presentational improvement from what I saw when I was in Montréal over the summer.

Well Breakfast was absolutely amazing -- they showed all three hours on C-SPAN and I taped them all. We got to see it all uninterrupted. I was hoping that they'd show LDN for regional news -- but we got UK Today.

BBC America is still showing BBC World -- but they've stopped carrying World idents and break filler stuff Sad
I don't know why -- they're just showing BBC News promos from a few years ago during commercial breaks…

Why doesn't the BBC create special titles for 'War on Terror' or 'Strike on Afghanistan' - whatever they're calling it? I know it's more of an American news thing to create new titles for every news event -- but since thing is probably going to go on for a while it would make a lto of sense to create some new titles……Just a thought.

I remember NickyS or TeechyPeep - some BBC worker - said that World News presentation was going to get a facelift. Does anyone remember when they said it would happen?

BBC World new graphics postponed, due to the attacks, that's for sure! They may change 'em as a celebration of victory.

CTV's Canada AM showing newspaper headlines in Canada - basically summing up what's going on...

Ok, NOW I'm scared... analysts are saying that if the US goes into a lockdown, the terrorists will go for an easier target --> CANADA. Shocked

It's not fair -- you Canadians can get American TV but we can't get Canadian -- then again, most Americans wouldn't want Canadian tv - only TV presentation junkies -- Very Happy

Asia Today is on World now with Geeta Guru-Muruthy (or something like that) -- I really like Asia Today's titles, they're really original…They're astons are good too -- ]

Alek, there's no REAL difference between Canadian and American networks... just presentation and news...
eg) If a Canadian and an American network is showing the same show at the same time, CRTC rules are that the cable company override the American signal and show the Canadian signal in its place until the show is done.

CTV - just like ABC, but with some Canadian shows
Global - just like NBC, but with some Canadian shows
CBC - just like PBS, but NO American shows and it acts like a private network
Independents - mix of raunchy (Fox), old stuff (CBS), and the WB

Yeah I didn't think there were a lot of differences -- I would just like to see Canadian news and CBC idents etc

Phillipa Thomas is presenting a special BBC News report from Washington -- they used the overnight BBC News titles - so is this broadcast on News24 too?
