I actually do urge people to watch this if they access to American TV in the house! Its sooo much better than the Tarrant version. Regis Philbin is a good replacement is Tarrant was to ever step down.

But STILL one million pound is the biggest cash prize in the world,

I believe the tax man takes a slice of your winnings over there

Before it came back to Primetime ABC, there was Super Millionaire and the top money was $10,000,000 and actually there was a special 2 week stint where if the Million wasn't won, $10,000 was added each night. That was when Kevin Olmstead won the Biggest ever cash prize in American TV History winning £2,180,000.

You're joking right? He's a great host but it just wouldn't work in the UK. Rolling Eyes

Me and Chie have been watching this and we've not been enjoying the clock format (which Regis has had great trouble with also) or the awful time taken up by the celeb question at the end which is so obviously faked.

It's not been doing well in the ratings either, but nice to see ABC celebrating it unlike a certain UK broadcaster last September who were the very first of over a hundred worldwide to broadcast the most successful TV format in the world.

No the primetime version now is the syndicated version only later and with Regis really. In all nearly 11 years of it being on tv here in the UK, there has never been a Presenters Edition of the show! At the moment the Australian version is called Millionaire - Hot Seat which is another spin off.

But STILL one million pound is the biggest cash prize in the world,

I'd love to know how you came to that conclusion, do you have a knowledge of every gameshow made around the world in history since the launch of WWTBAM?

US game show The Power of 10 also offered a price of $10,000,000.

Kevin Olmstead is still the biggest winner and I think Nancy Christie was the first woman to win the million in the US on the Syndi version with Meredith.

I remember this as it was the very first show they went for the $10,000,000, it wasn't even scripted!!

Do you mean presenters from all over the world haven't been invited to play the game?

Do you know why that is? Because it would only appeal to a few geeks on YouTube and not to your average viewer in each nation.

What I mean is a special show in London, where 10 presenters from all over the world are in the FFF Seats and whoever wins gets to play for their favourite charity from whatever country they come from.

It's on YouTube the very first contestant a guy about 19 won $1,000,000 then got the chance to go for 10, but it was about a 1 in 11 chance of getting it.
