It seems to be a regular occurence that at least once a week HTV join Quizmania about half an hour later than the rest of the country. The one I stayed up to watch resulted in the presenter welcoming viewers in Wales! It all worked pretty smoothly.

I wonder why Wales this Week didn't just carry the Billy-Jo Jenkins interview themselves within the Wales this Week brand rather than shove Sir Trevor back in his slot?

Well that does surprise me re Quizmania -- how nice of them.

ITV thought ahead to mention the schedule change twice, along with this most thrilling of slides

But pronouncing his name "Sian" three times? Poor.

I noticed the poor pronounciation as Sian rather than Sion - whatever next!

Also that blue graphic from above is used on a lot of junctions where they promote programmes on other ITV channels. I have only seen them feature three channels so far and not any more.

I wonder why they didn't move Wales This Week to 20:00 on Friday so it was still in primetime?

Regarding S4C....

How many idents (since, say, 1995?) are still in use? I tend to see the same several used over (Egg, Mouse, Stapler, Garlic Press and Pencil) when there are idents like Sousaphone or Fan that are rarely seen in long versions, and others that I have not seen at all, such as Gauge, Shower or Extinguisher.

Would I have any more luck spotting these on the analogue service? I'm currently on the digital because of my poor analogue reception, but it has limited on-air hours...and am I right in saying no more of these dragon idents will be produced in future?

Well yes of the 30+ they have, S4C use half a dozen all the time, which is dull of them.

Mind you they probably don't care much what with things as they are/with no-one watching etc [bring back Heulwen].

Apart from the ones you mentioned, they like running the Magic Hat and the Vaccuum one, and the ghastly Speaker one. Fan is a summer thing I think. Shower Head used only to be used before films.

The analogue service does seem to show a handful more -- I caught Pedal Bin and Iron the other day, and Standpipe, Kite [14:9] and Extinguisher are on now and again.

The St Davids ident was very abstract -- summat to do with the national anthem written in a cafe menu.

Well I didnt see another one [I'd forgotten about this].

Anyway I see this day that Wales This Week has been put back to 0030, where Tonight would've been were it not for the fact it is on Billie Jo Jenkins.

Does this mean an extra 30mins of peak time local programming will have to be recompensated to HTV?

How do you join Quizmania half an hour late anyway?

In much the same way as, say, BBC1 Wales might join News 24 later than BBC1 network. We just give them different on air times for each region (on Monday night network, then SMG, then Wales all joined within about half an hour of each other!)

Kite is still going? If it's the one I think it is, I'm quite surprised it has lasted this long; quite a feat.

Now I *can* pick up S4C Analogue on CH47 despite being just outside Wales, but the picture is terrible from the aerial I have, which is situated in the loft. Other (analogue) channels are better, but still not great here; would be nice to get a real clear picture but I'm not sure what the best option is...

Well if you live in the westcountry just outside Wales, I'd imagine your aerial is pointing to Mendip, which is the wrong way.

Mendip does very well across south Wales, but I don't know how Wenvoe gets on in the westcountry, never having lived there. Perhaps a nice indoor aerial and a booster would do the job -- mind you why you would want S4C other than for a delayed C4 service really.
