It'll be all leeks and no daffodils this year, won't it?

More on that subject at midnight, after which I'll edit this post!

Edit:-
Here you go then, folks.

Well I brought mine indoors a fortnight ago and they are just opening now -- which is nice of them.

Mind you the negativity of Joe on this thread has damaged Daffodil Watch [I hope not irreparably]. I'm certain it's more points for a national daffodil, but so far a very poor show from the breakfast programmes, especially Sian Williams -- I would've made it part of her Welsh Challenge thingyo, perhaps Aled Jones will kick off later.

Likely suspects really

Jez it appears that HTV are opting out of network (like the BBC) at 11:55 and 23:30 today to cover the opening of The Senedd in Cardiff Bay.

There doesn't seem to be any other programmes scheduled - unlike the BBC which seems to have pulled out ALL the stops this year.

Not long to go now until we hear the first St David's Day announcement from a non-Welsh announcer on ITV1Wales.

PS Google has been celebrating St David's Day

I've always preferred leeks to daffodils on St D's anyway. You look a bit of a ponce with a flower on you. In school we used to make little leeks out of green & white crepe paper and little bits of string at the bottom for roots. Cool!

The opening ident on ITV1Wales went along the lines of:-

"Good morning, you're with ITV1Wales, on a very wintry St David's Day......and some advice on how to cut your household bills later."

They even mentioned ITV1Wales rather than just ITV - so we can only assume that there might be local announcements all day?

Well, didn't see anything different on S4C when I checked at 10:45. Sousaphone (short) got used into the Senedd opening coverage.

Good effort from BBC Wales for this morning's events - and great idents too. These should be used everyday!

Also great to see BBC Wales opt out of the schedule for the night - the last thing we want on St Davids Day is live coverage of an England match!

Not much choice on terrestrial TV this lunchtime in Wales. BBC1, S4C and ITV1 all covering events at the Senydd, with PMQs on BBC2!

BBC News 24 even simulcast some coverage of events in Cardiff, having a strap up saying PMQs was on Parliament - but by about 12.10pm they'd gone to PMQs - though the BBC Wales programme was on the News Multiscreen service.

There was a mention of the Senedd leading into Emmerdale, and that there would be coverage in the News at 10:30 and later at 11:30.

Hmm...over on S4C, A Song For Wales; I don't know what one earth was going on but something was messed up on the sound for the first act, causing the pitch to wobble like a dodgy audio tape Confused Not very pleasant on the ears!

Looks like they've decided to give the bloke a second chance to make up for the spectacular cockup first time round....

Anyway Joe, why would you have a beef about people celebrating their own national identities?

Sounds a bit "humbug" to me.

If I want to moan about it then I bloody will. I'm not explaining why things irritate me to you

Hey Joe, you irritate most of us so you may as well have a petty stab yourself love!
