Well it's that time of year when as many as two people on here start looking for flowers on the tv.

It is of course an activity for all mind you, GMTV put on a lovely spread last year, weather people, Look East -- as well as randoms across the globe.

Pres wise, I have seen one of the two BBC Wales on 1 idents have returned already, tomorrow evening seems fully opted out -- and S4C will probably do summat or other. However despite not producing anything special for years now it will no doubt be the first year St David's Day won't be mentioned by continuity on ITV in Wales [which is sad].

It's very hard to get the W to do that you know.

I wish BBC1 Wales wouldn't make such fuss about March 1st. I've never seen BBC1 NI and BBC1 Scotland show special presentation on March 17th and November 30th respectively.

I'm not sure there is generally a 'fuss'; a lot of this year's special programming is related to the Royal Opening of the Senedd tomorrow.

I'm not really sure why this affects you at all given that you receive network BBC One?

In that case you've not been paying attention.

I can assure you Scotland regularly do something a bit special on St Andrew's Day.

Anyway Joe, why would you have a beef about people celebrating their own national identities?

Sounds a bit "humbug" to me.

Very disappointed that HTV are doing sod all this year - unless they do an ident or something tommorow which I very much doubt.

I also agree with that woman who send her views into ITV Wales Tonight - it should also be a Bank Holiday for us in Wales tommorow.

Come on Jez. We all know that ITV Wales is now run by people in London, who really "care" about national identity. Ha!

Dydd Hapus Gwyl Dewi Sant to you all for tomorrow - I don't suppose we'll see any of the people in the idents with daffs or leeks pinned to them though!

i don't know about joe, but i think its fab that bbc wales (and apparently ni and scotland) bother to mention their respective days. however it seems unfair that bbc one network feel no need to mention england's day. as marksi said, people in the nations watch their respective versions of bbc one, so it is entirely appropriate that bbc one network could mention/celebrate st george without alienating an audience. all we get in england is a mention on regional news.

and before people suggest april 23rd isn't widely celebrated, in recent years the amount of parades, events and mentions of it are increasing year on year. special concerts/english flags seem to be all the rage round here anyway.

so yes, not humbug at bbc in the provinces, but humbug at bbc in london.

If I want to moan about it then I bloody will. I'm not explaining why things irritate me to you
