Someone please tell me it was a glitch with the playout system last night that just two seconds into the end credits of WTD, and therefore two seconds after an emotionally charged series cliff hanger, the voice of a continuity announcer chirped up with inane waffle about They Think It's All Over.

It was done with about as much gravitas as a hospital radio DJ, and guess what immediately after the credits had finished, yep a promo for TTIAO.

Crass in the extreme..

Yes, I saw that too, and it was just another example of extreemly bad presentation techniques. I've complained to most of the main broadcasters about this unnecesary habit of advising everybody about what is on next, both vocally and by "scrunching" up the credits so that they are effectively unreadable.

It can spoil the ending to an excellent programme (as happened last night with WTD)....but it's now so much a part of typical presentation technique that I doubt it will ever be changed. For some reason the broadcasters thing we are all TOO STUPID to use an EPG, or pick up the evening paper to see what's on next. I am VERY RARELY tempted to stay with a channel (or swap to associated sister channel) by such feeble-minded promotions. Evil or Very Mad Evil or Very Mad Evil or Very Mad

It's really one of my pet hates Evil or Very Mad
