Wonder why the standard BBC logo desktop isn't good enough?

Brilliant mock. Very strong.

But the fact is this is a scandal. The Press Office will surely be taking incoming over this.

HEAVY incoming.

I hope they have seen mdtauk's mocks and are using them as a guide for a potential brand identity because some of his work is fantastic. As long as he gets financially compensated for his work though...

As long as Perfect Curve doesn't seek inspiration from my work, we will be ok...

So how long before BBC Me becomes a real thing inspired somewhat by W1A? Smile

I'm sure W1A and its predecessor Twenty Twelve "foresaw" events that later became real, in fact IIRC one episode of Twenty Twelve pretty much played out in real life when a bus driver got lost in London taking athletes to the Olympic Stadium.

I know this sitcom is actually filmed at New Broadcasting House so I presume those massive backdrop images of BBC Talent past and present you see on the show in the meeting rooms are real?

Isn't this W1A latching on to an idea for personalisation that the DG championed a couple of years ago, and which has started to appear since iPlayer sign-on started (recommendations etc.), and just taking it a bit further?

TVForum mocks seem to crop up quite prominently when you do a Google image search for something pres-related.

I know, but isn't this an oddly specific thing to come up? Someone in the BBC searching for 'bbc logo gradient background', then cropping this image to just the version on the right and making it the default wallpaper for all computers in NBH.

A search for 'BBC logo' brings the original mock up as one of the first results (the 7th row of images on my screen) and certainly the first result which could be used as a wallpaper.

Also, worth noting that W1A isn't just filmed on the fly at NBH, and sets are created specifically for it, so it's not an indication of what all monitors in the building are displaying. The screens are essentially props.

Indeed, and I'm sure myBBC's recent renaming to Audience Platform is a total coincidence 🙈

There are a lot of images of 'talent' on the walls of BH and the meeting rooms are named after people from the BBC's past, but that doesn't necessarily mean that the names for the rooms used on W1A are the same as real ones.

At the Broadcast Centre or Salford you can have a meeting in 'Fawlty Towers' or 'Blue Peter' and I once had a job interview in 'Morecambe and Wise'. I've only been to BH a few times but I think the meeting rooms there are named after more earnest names like Ludovic Kennedy and Charles Foster which aren't as good for a show like W1A

It's quite a nice idea, but does get confusing when the room name is the same as an existing programme, for example arranging a meeting at 'Match Of The Day' when that's a room and not necessarily about that programme or near their office

I was led to believe that the HUGE looming images of people like Frankie Howerd and Mary Berry are installed for comedy effect, but there are obviously images of BBC talent around the building.

Edina and Patsy a notable exception Wink
