I was watching W1A tonight and noticed that the desktop wallpaper used on the computers in New Broadcasting House looked like something I'd seen before…




…because it looks very similiar to a mock mdtauk made four years ago:

TVForum mocks seem to crop up quite prominently when you do a Google image search for something pres-related.

I know, but isn't this an oddly specific thing to come up? Someone in the BBC searching for 'bbc logo gradient background', then cropping this image to just the version on the right and making it the default wallpaper for all computers in NBH.

It's remarkably difficult to find with a Google search and the only mention of it (that I could find) was due of this new thread, not the original. I do have to agree that it's a very pleasant wallpaper, a nice evolution on the 1997 ribbons. *woot woot* mdtauk

I hope they have seen mdtauk's mocks and are using them as a guide for a potential brand identity because some of his work is fantastic. As long as he gets financially compensated for his work though...
