Oh well, that's automation for you. And ECPs - get rid. Saw the Holby cock-up and wished the other side of the screen froze...

Nothing to be getting *excited* about, certainly. However, it's the frequency with which such events occur these days that's more of an issue. Particularly from a national broadcaster. It's sloppy.

I've been on leave for over a week now...doing a spot of redecorating/renovating...with the TV on in the background. No fewer than five screw-ups on BBC ONE and BBC TWO in the last five days. And that's just through *periodic* viewing of both channels. Some of them, admittedly were probably restricted to BBC NI.

Well I for one may move to NI or at least take more sickies. It's glitches and cock-ups like this that make interesting TV continuity these days. Nothing more boring than everything going to plan!

There were 2 VT clocks on BBC One just now, one before Skateboarders and one after.

It could be worse, look at five's ECP - They squash the whole program so it's totally illegible! Channel 4 do it but to a lesser extend. IMHO with an ECP, either keep the aspect ratio of the program the same when resizing or dont do it. It makes the program look awful Shocked

TV Room - just curious - the Tuesday you mention BBC1 NI crashing into the titles of They Think It's All Over, was that Tuesday the 30th ? I'm wondering because that night the 10 '0 Clock News was over a minute late. I remember watching They Think... and my watch beeping the top of the hour, I thought It had lgone fast, then realised BBC1 was just running late. (again !) Maybe no one told Belfast ?

The Continuity Announcers/Directors in the Nations are kept fully up to speed with what Network are planning both electronically and via talkback. Last minute changes are nothing out of the ordinary.

Quite what went wrong on this particular occasion, I have no idea. I do know that the automation occasionally plays up.
