E4's annual E-Stings competition is back - and you can view a new batch and vote on the E-Stings website at http://www.channel4.com/estings
I can't make my mind up whether it's a bad thing - or in these days of corporate branding actually a very good thing - too have such a range of presentation on E4.
As well as the various E-Sting animations, we've got the white and purple animations on the Next menus, the new E-Speak clips from the E4 pod thing and of course, the idents with the 70s band in purple.
The only thing I don't like is the "Next" strap, which is far more intrusive than the previous version which appeared in the top right, like on C4 and More4. The ECP could do with a more exciting animation too, rather than wiping on and just fading out!
Though I think they could have stuck with the original animated E4 logo alot longer, the current batch of main E4 idents are quite good, though I think it's a bit disapointing the way a plain E4 logo animates on to screen. Also, be good to see the band go on location around some of the programme sets as they did in the Big Brother house.
Back to the E-Stings vote - voting closes 27 Nov and you can win yourself a trip to the USA. And the best thing about the E-Stings - they are always played out clean!
