Much better results show this week. Editing is smoother and of course noticeably, there are different costumes. Particularly after Emeli Sande's performance, they cut to a VT, rather than last week when it was obvious that Lana del Rey hadn't just performed on the same stage which was then completely clear.

Only a few things though. I think Reggie's interviewing needs to be improved. He poses questions with obvious or yes/no answers. Similarly, a few of Holly's questions could be tightened up to avoid getting typical reactions which we could probably guess.

Also, just before Danny revealed his chosen act to leave, there was obviously some editing going on here, as the tension bed came on full volume with no sound from studio at all.

All small errors in what was a very enjoyable results show, which went too quickly! Great to see the coaches dancing as well. Shows a more light hearted side to them, perhaps akin to the sorts of antics we expect from our Strictly judges Smile

I'm glad they went only once to the V Room. Reggie is much better out in front presenting. Studio wise, I would have liked the V Room to be more incorporated into the set looking onto the stage, much like Strictly with the post-performance area above the dancefloor. It would capture all the reaction and atmosphere of the audience, rather than stuffed away and completely silent like it is now. I would really love to see that modification for next year please!

It collapsed last night with 6.53 million which is down 2 million on last week. They seriously need to put it on Saturday and make it live. There's no reason why it should be on Sunday.

The Sunday night results show is pure arrogance by the BBC, trying to span the show across more than 1 night for the ratings. Nobody wants to wait 24 hours and sit through a long show to find out a simple result that was pre recorded the night before. Pathetic.

I hope for everyones sake that the results start getting leaked every week so they've got no choice but to move the results to Saturday.

I think part of the reason for declining interest though is that we never really bonded with any of the contestants.

I always used to criticise the X Factor for being too drawn out, but actually there are so many stages of 'jeopardy' that you really buy in to the contests.

They show up to their "first" audition, will they get through? Then they face the big cull, will they get through? Then they go to judge's houses, will they get through? Then there's often another 'surprise cull' - will they survive? All that is utterly tedious but at the very least it makes you root for your favourites. The Voice was so quick, I don't really feel like I've connected with any of the acts. Plus the X Factor has that rags-to-riches aspect for its contestant, no matter how faux it may be.

It's a shame, I rather like The Voice's titles - they're a bit cheesy but it suits an entertainment show like this. It doesn't help that they've chopped them down in the most horrible way - the edit at the start isn't even on beat.

They're beyond cheesy. So, so incredibly naff. They'd have looked crap on Pop Idol 2002, and certainly have no place in 2012. The awful graphics I could possibly have excused if it actually had some sort of recognisable 'theme tune' but a dodgy guitar riff and some lass going "woaoaoahahahah this is the this is the this is the this is the voiceeeee" - no thank you. Forgettable, amateurish - and hardly sets the scene in the same way that the pounding, driving X Factor theme does.

The Voice theme tune reminds me of the Gladiators theme tune.

It's pretty obvious the BBC team hate The Voice stings and titles - and are trying to use them as little as possible isn't it? Presumably the co-producers and format owners are insisting on some usage to keep within 'the format' and don't want a different look and sound to be used?

They are beyond cheesy and incredibly dated.

It is the connection with the acts that is the real problem - we just don't know them. Even with The X Factor you might not know all 12/16 acts, but you generally are invested in some way or other in about half of them - and if not the acts the judges are enough to carry the show.

With The Voice it just comes down to them struggling to separate the good from the great - they're all pretty much at the same level (a level lower than the judges think they are), so all pretty much blend into one. Looking at the two apparent front runners - Ruth and Jaz - I doubt they'd make it past the half way point on The X Factor. You can make all the arguments you want about that but ultimately selling yourself in the music business on Voice alone is tough for anyone - and it's worth noting most the characters Will and Tom keep going on about were known much more than for their Voice.

Well it starts with 20, which means its incredibly difficult to make a connection at that stage, we're at 16 now, and in two weeks we will be at 8, so acts still in the competition at that stage will have a much bigger chance of getting a connection with the audience. Also, its important to note the social media presence of each act being plugged by the respective Twitter and Facebook Voice accounts. That does help in making a connection I suppose.

When they get down to 8 though there are just two shows left of the series. It is arguably that the format could mean when it comes to the final 4 rather than voting for the best Voice people will just end up choosing the winner based on their favourite judge.

Indeed, that became obvious when they opted to just not have any titles for the earlier shows. I thought that in the meantime they were sorting out some kind of improved version, but all they've done is cut down the titles and drown them out with applause wherever possible.

I wonder what the co-producers stand to gain from enforcing a uniform look and feel in all the countries to which the format is sold. It's not like the brand would get diluted by local modifications, as each TV market exists quite separately from the rest. Surely local producers know better what will and won't work in their own markets.

I remember watching a documentary about WWTBAM a long time ago, in which some people from Celador said they'd insisted that the format, including all music, lighting and graphics remained pretty much the same all over the world. In this instance it made sense. The drama provided by the beds, stings and lighting were integral to the Millionaire format. With The Voice, the insistence on uniformity makes less sense. The spinny chairs are the defining feature of the format, the tacky theme tune is not so important.

Having said all that, given that the BBC do not appear to have a choice, I think it would be better if they just embraced it and tweaked it, rather than trying to play it down to non-existence.

The love on show here for The X Factor titles is a little misplaced. They're really no better than The Voice's in concept, albeit slightly better in execution. An X flying through space? Tacky tacky tacky. And the X Factor theme tune isn't a patch on Pop Idol's. Despite this, The X Factor team bring in other elements, such as the brilliant use of this as a bed. The Voice UK could do something similar if they find the material the Dutch have provided them with so objectionable.

I agree with others that the live show was much better this week, but it's still missing something. All this makes you realise just how slick a production The X Factor is and just how tricky it is to present a big, complicated live TV programme like this. Dermot O'Leary makes it look easy, Holly Willoughby and Reggie Yates are making it look painful. The yes/no questions are really starting to make me cringe now.

I'm unfamiliar with The Voice format worldwide, but was wondering is the BBC's version of the format exactly the same as all the other territories ie. in terms of number of episodes, number of contestants put through, order of vote-off's, mentors performing with the contestants ?

And is our version they the only one in the world to pre-record the results show ?
