I still fail to see the point of the BBC showing The Voice - it's not a very BBC-ish production - not to mention the whole X Factor vs Voice war, the BBC should be avoiding things like this.
I understand that the cost of this is not confirmed and that each department of the BBC has its own budget so that this would not affect things like sport or BBC Two daytime, but it just seems like a very ratings-centred decision with a gimmicky premise ("it's all about 'The Voice'") that will cost the BBC a lot of publicity points if it does not succeed.
Equally, I believe The X Factor has reached saturation after the peak of the 2010 series and I think Cowell is right in ending the show after the next series or the next two series.

This view (which I've read a lot lately) tends to ignore one big factor - The Voice is a very popular show around the world, and British viewers are likely to be very positive towards it. Sure its another talent show but that's the fashion right now; and its doing well in every other territory its been launched in.
Being publicly funded shouldn't preclude the BBC from having a ratings hit, and ITV were unlikely to touch it for fear of offending Cowell the cash cow. So the viewer is being served by the Beeb where the biggest commercial channel isn't going.
That said, if this is a two year deal you could expect Sky to bid for it in year three. Because that's what they do - steal other people's properties once all the risk has been played out.
And by that time, we'll all be pig-sick of talent shows and the BBC will dig Carol Smiley up again and do home makeover shows.

It was that horrible TVC dancing ident.
The on screen graphics that occasionally pop up on this are horrible. Just an awful red box with the text on top. They were using them in the online videos but I assumed that was just going to be on those videos. Sadly not.
Looks like we may see a special ident for The Voice. The form-up on the promo end-board focuses on a microphone head.

Even so, it's much better than X Factor

Yeah I am actually enjoying it regardless of my last post! Shame the sob stories haven't been left on ITV1 though.

Not much Holly Willoghby either. Even though it's auditions, I'd like to see more of the main presenter.
