It seems to be all change for The Voice UK as Kylie Minogue has been announced as a judge for the third series, joining Sir Tom Jones and Will.i.am. Jessie J and 'that man from the Script' announced their departure from the show back in the summer, and this week, Kylie Minogue was announced to be joining the panel. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/entertainment-arts-24048141

Today, Emma Willis, the host of Big Brother has been announced as the new presenter, replacing Holly Willoughby and Reggie Yeates, with a co-host to be announced next week. http://www.bbc.co.uk/mediacentre/latestnews/2013/voice-emma-willis.html

I wonder whether this means that Emma will leave Big Brother after only one regular series and one celebrity series of the main show, although I doubt it as she had stated how much of an honour it was to get the gig back, earlier in the year. I'm sure she'd have it as her priority.

She wouldn't leave her (presumably higher paid) dream job for The Voice, which might only have another series in it. The blind auditions will all be filmed by the end of the year anyway, and by the time the live shows start for The Voice Celeb BB will be well and truly over. I don't see why they're looking for a co-host for her - Reggie was surplus to requirements really.

Maybe they need someone who is more well known than her, or more experienced than her, to improve the feel of the show. She is by no means a bad host, but I do think she could only work on her own were she not replacing anybody.

I'd like to disrespectfully disagree, in terms of experience Willis has many hours of live television under her belt, including the speech heavy Big Brother's Bit on the Side roll and as of this week has two major reality series under her belt which invovlved prestening whilst contending with a baying crowd of morons.

Willoughby was a poor choice in the first place lacking a certain edge needed for the role that and Willis can bring that in my opinion. I fear Willis may fall foul of past poor decisions however.

In terms of how well known Emma is she has a similar background to Dermot O'Leary had when he got The X Factor and that's done that show no harm.

Willoughby most certainly wasn't a poor choice - she has mass appeal, has appeared on edgier shows than Big Brother, and she has hosted much more difficult shows than Big Brother. I'm not entirely sure why the host of The Voice needs to be "edgy" in any case. Reggie Yates was definitely the weak link before.

Much as I like Holly, she's always been a co-presenter in my eyes - never a star main presenter. She's lovely, and perfectly competent, but just not quite enough "attitude" and "edge" to be memorable. I've thought she's OK on This Morning, but she's no Fern Briton Mk II. Miles better than Tess Daley (or Kate Thornton) though.

Just think back to what might have been had Christine Bleakley not decamped to ITV. I suspect she'd have been in a prime spot for The Voice gig... (She was excellent on the Sport Relief/Comic Relief stuff she did before she left the BBC)

I think Emma Willis is an interesting choice. She's really impressive on Big Brother - obviously very quick witted and confident - and technically very able.

It's worth noting that Emma hasn't just got this gig off one series of Big Brother - she's been around learning her trade for the best part of a decade and is another graduate from MTV.

Yes, I am well aware of this, but she is arguably quite a lot less experienced than Holly Willoughby. I was merely making the point that because she is replacing two presenters, and she isn't massively experienced, she needs a co-presenter.

She's already better than Holly Willoughby for this type of show though.

I thought I had put that not a huge amount of people know who she is, as that is also a very important point as to why she needs a co-presenter. Still, I don't see why she is better.

As I said she's probably at a similar level to Dermot O'Leary when he got the X Factor job.

She's better because she's got a bit more about her.

Anyway, the Emma will almost certainly be the lead presenter so unlikely someone higher profile will get the other job.

I'm not sure the format really needs a co-presenter though. X Factor works well with a single presenter, and Ant and Dec are effectively a single presenter in most ways on BGT (as they never split up)

As for why people think she's better - I guess it's personal taste, but Emma definitely has a bit more oomph, and a bit more sass. Holly's just a bit vanilla.
