Are there now ANY ITV regions that have in-vision announcers? Granada region stopped around 3 years ago. Best one was Colin Weston who was brilliant. A superb personality. It was a shame the programmes interrupted him!!! Anyone know his whereabouts ? Has he gone to another station ?

When on holiday in Ireland I spotted on UTV (Ulster Television) that they had in vision continuity where an overweight irishman would sit on a sofa and talk in and extemely loud voice.

It was dreadfull!

I never saw any on YTV, so it was a bit of a novelty when they in vision announcers on ITV2. Sadly, they too have now departed. I think the TV stations have decided that trailers are the best way to get people to watch programmes, and they have less time in the schedules for in vision announcers with more advertising on screen.
